This Privacy Policy applies when Advokatfirman XXV AB (“the Law Firm,” “we,” “our,” “us”), 559547-5640, Bergsgatan 25, 112 28 Stockholm, processes personal data. The Law Firm’s processing of personal data complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679/EU) (“GDPR”).

Processing of Personal Data – Information Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679/EU)

Advokatfirman XXV AB is the data controller for the personal data regarding contacts that we receive in connection with assignments or that is otherwise processed while preparing or administering the assignment. You are not required to provide personal data to us, but without it, we cannot accept an assignment because we cannot perform the necessary conflict-of-interest and anti-money-laundering checks.

We process the data to conduct mandatory conflict-of-interest and any money laundering checks, to perform and administer the assignment, to protect your interests, and for accounting and billing purposes. Personal data is processed on the basis that it is necessary to fulfill the agreement with you, necessary to fulfill a legal obligation, or, in the case of public appointments, to fulfill a task in the public interest.

The data may also be used for business and process development, market analysis, statistics, and risk management. Data processed for the purpose of developing and analyzing our operations is processed based on our legitimate interest in developing our operations and communicating with our contacts.

We will not disclose personal information to third parties except when

  • unless otherwise agreed between the law firm and you,
  • when it is necessary, within the scope of a specific assignment, to protect your rights,
  • if it is necessary for us to fulfill a legal obligation or comply with a decision by a public authority or a court, or
  • in the event that we engage third-party service providers to perform tasks on our behalf.

The information may be disclosed to courts, government agencies, counterparties, and their representatives if necessary to protect your rights.

In accordance with the obligation imposed on Advokatfirman XXV AB under the Guidelines for Professional Conduct for Attorneys, personal data is retained for a period of ten years from the date the matter is concluded, or for a longer period if required by the nature of the matter. Data processed for the purpose of developing, analyzing, and marketing the law firm’s operations is retained for a period of five years following the last contact. If you unsubscribe from newsletters or similar communications, the data will be deleted immediately.

You have the right to request information from Advokatfirman XXV AB, free of charge, regarding the use of your personal data. At your request or on our own initiative, we will correct or delete any inaccurate data or restrict the processing of such data. You also have the right to request that your data not be processed for direct marketing purposes. You also have the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format or, if technically possible, to have the data transferred to a third party of your choice. If you are dissatisfied with our processing, you may file a complaint with a supervisory authority, which in Sweden is the Swedish Data Protection Authority (www.datainspektionen.se). You may also contact the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work.
